Bipolar Blogger

You can add bipolar blogger to my list of shortcomings. I continue to tell myself that i will post a new blog. I have plenty to write. Lord knows i have plenty to share. I guess by the time i sit to write my brain doesn't connect to my fingers or while waiting the insane amount of time to upload my large picture files my occasional ADD kicks in i find something else i should be doing and move on to it. Add ADD to the list too. I really appreciate all of you who check back every few days because you have faith in me. I will get better (fingers crossed).

I must back tract to Easter. Wow. We dyed eggs the night before. We put Ben in bed first. We attempted a lame shiny egg technique. Kids under 6 rubbing glue and waiting until sticky and trying to put on gold leaf...bad. I mean i couldn't even get it. We did a few with the clear crayon and finally i broke out the glitter. Needless to say the eggs were, well, interesting.

This year Ella questioned us on the Easter Bunny. When does he come? Why does he bring baskets? Can she go see him at the mall so he knows what to bring her. I drew the line at that. I looked at Eric then at Ella and explained that the Easter Bunny wasn't really and that it would be a little creepy to go to the mall so they could talk to a man in a bunny suit. As if i hadn't said enough, i continued with, the Easter Bunny doesn't come to your house and bring you stuff for Easter. Mommy and Daddy stuff your basket and the real reason we celebrate Easter is because Jesus died on the cross and rose again three days later. That was the best gift of all, she gets to reflect on that every Easter morning and that is way cooler than anything a man in a bunny suit, mommy or daddy could stuff in her Easter basket. She just stared at me. Maybe i said to much. I am probably a little bitter about Santa and the Easter Bunny getting credit for all my hard work. I mean i did already explain to her that Mommy and Daddy pay for the gifts that Santa brings. None of the kids seemed phased by my rant.

Ella insisted on wearing a dress my mom got from like a yard sale a few years back to church. I mean ....it was for dress up for pete's sake. Good thing she got bubbles on it and had to change.

Dress #1
The worst idea for an Easter Basket. Kids love it. Imagine times 3.

Off to church and then lunch.

That day Ben was fascinated with stinking his tongue out.
Ella in dress #2

When we get home she changes again to hunt eggs. What a girl.

dress #3

Eric and I hid 60 eggs. it took the kids about 10 minutes to find them. John was really interested in the hunting for the first few minutes.

He had maybe 5 or so and as he was walking they began to fall out. i called for him to pick up the eggs he was losing. He began taking the eggs out of his basket and dropping them as he walked. When he had "re-hidden" his eggs in plain sight, he dropped the empty basket and ran to play. I gave him an A for effort and an F for attention span. Ben seemed to find the the real eggs that were all sweaty (FYI glitter and foil doesn't stick once hidden).

He wasn't pleased with the texture so hunting wasn't really his thing. Ella and Jack LOVED it. They came out about half and half. It was a great day.

Haircuts

It is no secret that i cut the kids hair. I mean how hard can it be? Okay, so it is a little difficult. I could take them and pay $10 or $15 (times 4 kids) or I can get it close and pray if it was too close it grows back quickly. HA! For the boys I use Eric's clippers. This works great because they have set lengths and they think they get to be like daddy. Well, this time I thought I would give the ear trimmer guard a go on Jack. I mean it is already angled to give him a shorter trim aroung the ear and then feather in. Well....

Just call him Vanilla Ice. I will not be using the ear guard again. Ever.

Camper tour

I hope you can see it. You get the idea. :)

Wah Wah WAhhhhhhhh......

Today Eric packed up and headed out. First stop....Forsyth, GA. He will be working down in Macon and then moving on to Tucker, GA. The kids drew him a few cards.....Here is Jack's.

He drew a picture of the camper and then on the other side two faces. Eric asked who the crying face was. Jack said "oh, that is me because i am going to be sad when you leave." then Eric asked if the happy face was himself. Jack said "No daddy, that is not you. That is Mommy." HA!
Then there was Ella's heartbreaking card (front and back). It made Eric feel really good about having to leave. I think she is learning the guilt trip a little early. :)

And the inside was a picture of the camper parked in front of the house and Eric's truck (she drew it like a dog HA!) and Eric and Ella.

tour coming soon.......

New home

Well, Eric's at least. Just for a little while.

We were super excited to spend this beautiful day picking it up. Now to make it our own! More pictures to come.
